How to compare a Flower Mound electricity offer

  • Quote ZIP 75028 or the service address

The September 30 averages are for 75028. Confirm the quote says Oncor.

  • Check the 500 kWh price before you use 10.5¢

That snapshot averages 18.8¢ at 500 kWh. A credit aimed at 1,000 kWh will not describe a low-usage month.

  • Use the winter average for sewer, not July water use

At a 5,000-gallon winter average, sewer is about $42.53. The no-average maximum is $58.64. Water at 5,000 gallons is $62.54.

  • Date-stamp the trash quote

Use $16.05 plus tax through September 30, 2026 and $20.40 plus tax starting October 1, 2026. Stormwater is $6.50 per residential ERU and is not the trash fee.

Moving to Flower Mound

  • Confirm Oncor before comparing a plan built for a different TDU.
  • Ask whether the sewer account has a winter average yet. New accounts can bill the no-average maximum until one exists.
  • If your start date is on or after October 1, 2026, budget trash at $20.40 plus tax, not $16.05.

In most cases, no. For a standard switch between competitive retail electric providers on an existing residential meter, your new provider and your transmission and distribution utility (TDU) typically coordinate the change electronically—an appointment at your home is not usually required simply to change supply companies. A technician may need access for new service, suspected meter or equipment problems, or safety-related orders from the utility; those are different from completing enrollment through a shopping or comparison flow. Your confirmation email and terms from the enrolling provider will say if anything non-routine applies. If no visit is mentioned, you can ordinarily expect the switch to proceed without someone entering your home.
