Compare electricity providers in Hutto, Texas

Hutto shops retail electricity on Oncor. The city bills water, winter-average sewer, and residential garbage. A better supply plan does not change those municipal schedules.

How this connects to our Hutto utility estimate

On our Hutto utility cost page, we model Oncor Electric Delivery delivery pass-throughs plus an illustrative retail supply component for competitive areas—useful for budgeting city services together. The modeled all-in electric estimate at 1,000 kWh is about $104.00 /month using our last source refresh (2026-09-30). Live REP rates you can enroll in will differ from that illustration.

Choose Texas Power’s Hutto page, ZIP 78634, updated September 30, 2026, lists an average of 10.4¢/kWh at 1,000 kWh (18.7¢ at 500 kWh and 13.1¢ at 2,000 kWh). Oncor delivery on that page is $4.06 per month plus 6.0295¢/kWh. The average already includes delivery. Confirm a live Electricity Facts Label before you enroll.

Inside-city water for a 5/8- or 3/4-inch meter: $40.58 includes the first 2,000 gallons, then $5.79 per 1,000 through 5,000 gallons. At 5,000 gallons that is $57.95. Drainage is a separate $4 monthly fee.

Sewer is $41.41 plus $7.03 per 1,000 gallons of the November–February winter average. A 5,000-gallon winter average is $76.56. Accounts without a winter average, and Manville or Jonah water customers, pay the flat $88.67. Standard 95-gallon trash and recycling is $19.86 and includes tax and the street maintenance fee.

Oncor versus a Hutto electricity plan

Oncor delivery is regulated and the same for every REP on that meter.

The 10.4¢ figure is a September 30, 2026 marketplace average at 1,000 kWh, not your contract price.

How to compare a Hutto electricity offer

  • Quote ZIP 78634

Use the EFL at 500, 1,000, and 2,000 kWh. The same day those averages were 18.7¢, 10.4¢, and 13.1¢.

  • Keep the $4.06 Oncor charge in the stack

Delivery is $4.06 per month plus 6.0295¢/kWh. A supply-only banner is not the bill.

  • Ask whether you have a winter-average sewer

Without one, sewer is the flat $88.67 instead of $41.41 plus $7.03 per 1,000 gallons.

  • Trash is $19.86 for the standard cart pair

Smaller trash and recycle pairs are $19.04, $17.59, or $16.77. Drainage is a separate $4.

Moving to Hutto

  • Confirm the meter is Oncor before you shop a REP.
  • Ask whether water is city, Manville, or Jonah. Sewer billing changes if it is not city water.
  • Start service with a winter-average question so the first sewer bills are not the flat $88.67 by surprise.

No. The comparison module is not a live plan feed.
In most cases, no. For a standard switch between competitive retail electric providers on an existing residential meter, your new provider and your transmission and distribution utility (TDU) typically coordinate the change electronically—an appointment at your home is not usually required simply to change supply companies. A technician may need access for new service, suspected meter or equipment problems, or safety-related orders from the utility; those are different from completing enrollment through a shopping or comparison flow. Your confirmation email and terms from the enrolling provider will say if anything non-routine applies. If no visit is mentioned, you can ordinarily expect the switch to proceed without someone entering your home.
