How this connects to our Lufkin utility estimate

On our Lufkin utility cost page, we model Oncor Electric Delivery delivery pass-throughs plus an illustrative retail supply component for competitive areas—useful for budgeting city services together. The modeled all-in electric estimate at 1,000 kWh is about $151.10 /month using our last source refresh (2026-09-30). Live REP rates you can enroll in will differ from that illustration.

Oncor’s September 2026 residential delivery, the same pass-through published for other Oncor cities, is $4.06 per month plus 6.0295¢/kWh. Confirm a live Electricity Facts Label. That snapshot is one day after this page’s September 30 verification date.

Oncor versus a Lufkin electricity plan

Oncor delivery is regulated and the same for every REP on that meter.

The 15.11¢ figure is Gatby’s October 1, 2026 snapshot, not a Choose Texas Power city page and not your contract price.

How to compare a Lufkin electricity offer

  • Use ZIP 75901 and confirm Oncor

Deep East Texas has co-op pockets. The shopping page only applies where the bill says Oncor.

  • Do not treat 15.11¢ as a PUCT city average

Choose Texas Power has no Lufkin page. Re-quote on Power to Choose.

  • The water sheet is the July 11, 2025 posting

No later city schedule was found. At 5,000 gallons, water is $25.89 and a 5,000-gallon winter-average sewer bill is $26.07.

  • Sanitation is $19.63 with tax

That is $18.13 plus $1.50 tax on the posted sheet.

Moving to Lufkin

  • Confirm the meter is Oncor, not a Deep East Texas co-op.
  • Ask whether the sewer account has a December–February average yet.
  • Shop the live EFL. There is no Choose Texas Power Lufkin page to bookmark.

No. The comparison module is not a live plan feed.
In most cases, no. For a standard switch between competitive retail electric providers on an existing residential meter, your new provider and your transmission and distribution utility (TDU) typically coordinate the change electronically—an appointment at your home is not usually required simply to change supply companies. A technician may need access for new service, suspected meter or equipment problems, or safety-related orders from the utility; those are different from completing enrollment through a shopping or comparison flow. Your confirmation email and terms from the enrolling provider will say if anything non-routine applies. If no visit is mentioned, you can ordinarily expect the switch to proceed without someone entering your home.
