How this connects to our Weatherford utility estimate

On our Weatherford utility cost page, we model Oncor Electric Delivery delivery pass-throughs plus an illustrative retail supply component for competitive areas—useful for budgeting city services together. The modeled all-in electric estimate at 1,000 kWh is about $151.20 /month using our last source refresh (2026-09-30). Live REP rates you can enroll in will differ from that illustration.

Gatby’s September 26, 2026 Weatherford snapshot, covering ZIPs including 76086, lists an average of 15.12¢/kWh at 1,000 kWh. Oncor’s September 2026 residential delivery, the same pass-through published for other Oncor cities, is $4.06 per month plus 6.0295¢/kWh. Confirm a live Electricity Facts Label before you enroll.

City water effective October 1, 2025: a 3/4-inch inside-city base of $32.40 plus $0.05823 per cubic foot for the first 1,000 cubic feet. Five thousand gallons is about 668 cubic feet, so water is about $71.31. Wastewater’s inside-city minimum is $25.05 and includes 400 cubic feet, then $0.06745 per cubic foot, billed on the lesser of actual use or the December–February average.

Inside-city garbage is $23.50 a month for twice-weekly pickup. Curbside recycling is optional at $9.50 a month and is not included.

Oncor versus a Weatherford electricity plan

Oncor delivery is regulated and the same for every REP on that meter.

The 15.12¢ figure is one marketplace’s average on September 26, not a Choose Texas Power city page and not your contract price.

How to compare a Weatherford electricity offer

  • Use ZIP 76086 and confirm Oncor

Some Parker County addresses outside the city are a co-op, not Oncor.

  • Do not treat 15.12¢ as a PUCT average

It is Gatby’s September 26 snapshot. Re-quote on Power to Choose.

  • Convert cubic feet before you compare gallons

Water and wastewater are priced per cubic foot. At 5,000 gallons, water is about $71.31 and sewer about $43.14 inside the city.

  • Trash is $23.50 inside the city

Outside the city, weekly pickup is $33. Recycling is a separate $9.50 if you add it.

Moving to Weatherford

  • Confirm the meter is Oncor, not a Parker County co-op.
  • Ask whether the sewer account has a winter average yet.
  • Shop the live EFL. There is no Choose Texas Power Weatherford page to bookmark.

No. The comparison module is not a live plan feed.
In most cases, no. For a standard switch between competitive retail electric providers on an existing residential meter, your new provider and your transmission and distribution utility (TDU) typically coordinate the change electronically—an appointment at your home is not usually required simply to change supply companies. A technician may need access for new service, suspected meter or equipment problems, or safety-related orders from the utility; those are different from completing enrollment through a shopping or comparison flow. Your confirmation email and terms from the enrolling provider will say if anything non-routine applies. If no visit is mentioned, you can ordinarily expect the switch to proceed without someone entering your home.
